Entering the Soldier Come Dancing! competition couldn't be easier!  Simply email us now to pre-register your interest and we'll send you an Entry Form together with a copy of the Rules.

Participation: By participating in the Soldier Come Dancing! Contest you agree that M. Felton of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison has the right, in perpetuity, to: (a) display and perform your video online at the Event Site, or via any and all media including print, television, radio and related websites including but not limited to www.soldiercomedancing.co.uk and www.youtube.com and (b) permit public voting and comment in connection with your video.

 

Copyright: By entering your video into the Soldier Come Dancing! Content you are transferring all copyrights (excluding music rights) relating to the entered video to M. Felton, SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison.  You also warrant to M. Felton, SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison that you (and your team members where applicable) have full legal authority and right to transfer such copyright to M. Felton, SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison, and in the event of a breach of copyright occurring, agree to indemnify M. Felton, SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison against all losses, costs, legal actions and damages which would be required to be recovered in the event of such a breach of warranty.

 

By making a submission of a video in this Contest, each Entrant grant M. Felton, SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison the irrevocable and exclusive right and license to (a) reproduce, distribute through any and all media channels and methods, publicly perform, display, exhibit, host, transmit or otherwise store and sort, permit comments or otherwise comment on, edit, alter, modify, make derivate works of, assign, license, delegate and otherwise utilize the submitted Contest materials, if applicable, in whole or in part, in any and all media throughout the universe.

 

Original Work:  All entrants by participating in the Soldier Come Dancing! Contents confirm and warrant to M. Felton, SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison that the video they enter is an original work that has not previously been published, displayed, performed or otherwise distributed via the internet, private internet, extranet or any other electronic means, or on television or any other form of public broadcast media, either with the submitted sound/music track, or with any other.

 

Privacy: By entering the Contest, you agree that M. Felton of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison may use of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy applicable to and available at www.soldiercomedancing.co.uk.

 

Review and uploading of Entries: M Felton, and other members of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison will review videos and approve acceptable videos, and will then upload the approved videos to the voting site www.soldiercomedancing.co.uk  (the "Event Site") and to www.YouTube.com (the “Video Hosting Site”).

 

Voting: The public will be invited to vote for approved videos online at the Event Site.

 

By participating in the Contest you agree that M Felton of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison and its sponsors, subsidiaries, associates and affiliates and each of their representatives, employees, agents and contractors have the right to (a) use, review, assess, evaluate, score, verify and judge your entry, publicly or otherwise, in any manner of voting.

 

The 1st Round of Voting starts October 7, 2009 at 12:00 GMT and will close on November 7, 2009 at 10:00 AM GMT ("First Voting Period").  2nd Round of Voting starts November 7, 2009 at 12:00 GMT and will close on December 7, 2009 at 10:00 AM GMT ("Second Voting Period").   Anyone who visits http://www.soldiercomedancing.co.uk (the "Event Site") can vote for their favourite video. M. Felton and members of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison has the right in its sole discretion to maintain the integrity of the Contest including the right to void votes for, including but not limited to, the following reasons:

- Multiple votes from same user from different IP addresses or email accounts;
- Mechanical or automated entry votes;
- Fraudulent entry votes (using a redirect link, a disguised link, or fraudulent link etc.);
- Technical malfunction of servers or internet connection;
- User(s) recanting their own votes;
- Technical or content upgrades that render votes incompatible or inconsistent;
- Mislabeling of voting parameters;
- Users misunderstanding voting parameters; or
- Inappropriate conduct in promoting votes (spam, harassment, etc.)

 

The entrant(s) whose eligible video entry receives the highest number of eligible online votes will be the potential winner of the Most Votes Cast Prize, subject to input from M. Felton and a judging panel from SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison and verification (including verification of eligibility, compliance with the Official Rules) and satisfaction of any prize-related condition or specifications.

 

In the event of a tie M. Felton and members of the SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison and Event Sponsor staff will determine the winner based equally on the following: (i) 50% adherence to contest theme and (ii) 50% quality of creative expression to award the prize.

 

Viewing:  The public will be invited to view all approved videos online at www.YouTube.com. The number of viewings of each video during the Viewing Period will be recorded by the You Tube website.  M. Felton and SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison will take this number of viewings as reported by the You Tube Website to be the official viewing figures for each individual video. 

 

The 1st Round of Viewing starts October 7, 2009 at 12:00 GMT and will close on November 7, 2009 at 10:00 AM GMT ("First Viewing Period").  2nd Round of Viewing starts November 7, 2009 at 12:00 GMT and will close on December 7, 2009 at 10:00 AM GMT ("Second Viewing Period").   Anyone who visits http://www.soldiercomedancing.co.uk (the "Event Site") or www.YouTube.com can view their favourite video. M. Felton and SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison has the right in its sole discretion to maintain the integrity of the Contest including the right to void viewing numbers including, but not limited to, the following reasons:

- Technical malfunction of servers, software or internet connection;
- Technical or content upgrades that render viewing numbers incompatible or inconsistent;

Mislabelling of viewing parameters;
- Users misunderstanding viewing parameters; or
- Inappropriate conduct in promoting viewings (spam, harassment, etc.)

 

The entrant(s) whose eligible video receives the highest number of views will be the potential winner of the Viewer's Choice Prize, subject to input from M. Felton and a judging panel from SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison and verification (including verification of eligibility, compliance with the Official Rules) and satisfaction of any prize-related condition or specifications.

 

In the event of a tie M. Felton and members of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison and Event Sponsor staff will determine the winner based equally on the following: (i) 50% adherence to contest theme and (ii) 50% quality of creative expression to award the prize.

 

Donations:  The public will be invited to make voluntary donations in support of all approved videos online at www.justgiving.com. The amount donated against each video during the Viewing Period will be recorded by Just Giving.  M Felton and SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison will take the amounts donated, excluding processing costs and Gift Aid Supplement, as reported by Just Giving to be the official donation figures for each individual video.

 

The 1st Round of Donations starts October 7, 2009 at 00:00 GMT and will close on November 7, 2009 at 11:59 AM GMT ("First Donations Period").  2nd Round of Donations starts November 7, 2009 at 00:00 AM GMT and will close on December 7, 2009 at 11:59 AM GMT ("Second Donations Period").   Anyone who visits http://www.soldiercomedancing.co.uk (the "Event Site") or www.justgiving.com can donate to support their favourite video. M Felton and members of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison has the right in its sole discretion to maintain the integrity of the Contest including the right to void donation figures including, but not limited to, the following reasons:

- Technical malfunction of servers, software or internet connection;
- Technical or content upgrades that render donation figures incompatible or inconsistent;
-
Mislabelling of donation parameters;
- Users misunderstanding donation parameters; or
- Inappropriate conduct in promoting donations (spam, harassment, etc.)

 

The entrant(s) whose eligible video receives the largest amount in donations will be the potential winner of the Grand Champion Prize, subject to input from M. Felton and a judging panel from SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison and verification (including verification of eligibility, compliance with the Official Rules) and satisfaction of any prize-related condition or specifications.

 

In the event of a tie M Felton and members of the SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison and Event Sponsor staff will determine the winner based equally on the following: (i) 50% adherence to contest theme and (ii) 50% quality of creative expression to award the prize.

 

Notices and Rights:  No further notice to, review by, consent from, or payment to the Entrant will be made in connection with any such uses of submitted material. Without in any way limiting the foregoing, each Entrant acknowledges and agrees M. Felton shall have the right, license, privilege and authority to fix and produce in any manner, medium, form or language any video submitted to the Contest for distribution, exhibition, and exploitation in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter devised.

 

Without limiting the foregoing, the Grand Champion Prize winner irrevocably grants the foregoing rights and licenses on a non-exclusive basis and in perpetuity at the end of the Contest without further notice to, consent from, or payment to the Grand Prize winner.  M. Felton shall have the right to freely assign any and all of its rights hereunder, in whole or in part, to any other person or entity.

 

Conduct: The Official Competition Rules and these Supplementary Rules and Regulations will be posted at the Event Site throughout the Contest. Entrants further agree to be bound by the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects. M. Felton and SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of any of the Contest or any website; to be acting in violation of the Official Rules; or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. CAUTION: ANY DELIBERATE ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, M. Felton of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

 

Limitations of Liability: M. Felton of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error, which may occur in the processing of submissions in the Contest.

 

M. Felton of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison assumes no responsibility for any misdirected or lost mail, or any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries.

 

M. Felton of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email or participation on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof, including injury or damage to entrants' or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in the Contest.

 

If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of M. Felton of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, then M. Felton of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.

 

In the event of a dispute concerning who registered online to participate in the Contest, the registration will be declared to have been made by the authorized account holder or the email address submitted at the time of registration. The authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an internet provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, education institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.

 

Potential winner(s) may be requested to provide M. Felton of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison with proof that the potential winner(s) is/are the authorized account holder of the email address. If a dispute cannot be resolved to M. Felton of SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison's satisfaction, the entry will be deemed ineligible.

 

Winners List and Rules: Full details of the rules governing the competition will be available at www.soldiercomedancing.co.uk from 14 July 2009.  A full list of all confirmed winners will be made available at the same Event Site from 10 December 2009.
